St Matthew in the City Votive Candle stand
In 2018 We were approached by Peter Reed from Salmond Reed Architects to Create a Votive Candle stand for St Matthew in the city in Auckland. Peters design was based on the stained glass above where the candle stand was fixed and incorporated one hundred hand forged leaves, fifty of which were pressed to hold tea lights candles.
All the components of the the candle stand were hand forged, each leave textured and shaped by hand over the anvil and the frame was joined by hot punching holes and riveting together.
